Quite frankly, the chances to earn a coveted spot at the looming Offline Qualifier grow slimmer with each Online Qualifier. Read on for our very own recap of this exciting event!

BOV ePremier League Online Qualifier 3 Recap - Third Time's the Charm?

Taking place on the evening of 12th January, tensions were clearly hotting up. Specifically, this would be the third attempt for a portion of the 58 competitors, all of whom were hungry to earn a Top 6 placing.

Accompanied by an assortment of players with different backgrounds, the following six players came out on top:

If you're looking for a thrilling story, Owen Galea's bracket run should suffice. Involving multiple close shaves and a nail-biting penalty shoot-out, the former player for Senglea Athletic FC of 2020 reminded all of us why he's one of the best on the island.

Speaking of former Main Competition Stage competitors, the likes of Alessandro "El Punisher" Ebejer, formerly Lija Athletic FC, managed to clinch an equally important 5/6th placing.

Meeting us in the middle of the standings, both Julian Muscat and Matteo "Vella_999" Vella are seeking redemption.

Despite the pair reaching the Offline Qualifier of last season, they fell short - could this year be different?

Otherwise, we welcome the likes of Miguel "xMigi77-" Grima and Matthias "Menacing_MT" Friggieri. Boasting plenty of experience online, we're curious to see how they perform on LAN.

To conclude this third recap, here's a statement from the winner himself, Owen Galea:

After being knocked out very early in the first 2 qualifiers, I still had belief in myself that I would qualify again for the Offline qualifier this year. However,  I must say that the level of competition got even harder this year - won a lot of tight games and even a penalty shootout (miracle).

Now I need to practice even more for the Offline Qualifier because it will get even tougher and hopefully I can make the main competition 2 years in a row.

Indeed, by qualifying last  year I have some more experience in a LAN tournament to help me go a further step this year.

Be sure to stay tuned for more recaps of the ongoing BOV ePremier League Qualifiers - next up is Online Qualifier 4 as the last chance to finalize a spot at the Offline Qualifier!
